Scarcely anyone tolerates waiting easily.
It is always brought by some irregularity: the train is delayed, the guest does not arrive on time, and there is a traffic jam on the road. How such interruptions in the course of our daily life incense us! We are wasting time. We think. Waiting is empty time.
Waiting means having to make haste later on, dangerously accelerating the rhythm of life, taking on the harm that may result in order to catch up with ourselves.
Time is our capital. If we deal with it like an independent business partner, we can use this capital. Every minute of waiting that is – on the face of it – empty can be usefully filled with reading, prayer, reflection, a moment of ease, of meditation, or of relaxation. An interruption in our activities is not an interruption in time. Let us fill it further with experiences.
