My father once told me people who do no wrong do not fear. I am yet to someone who did no wrong.
All the Hindu Gods frequently display two kinds of mudra or symbolic hand-gesture: one means take my blessing (Varada Mudra), the other do not fear (Abhaya Mudra). When Jesus appeared to his disciple after the resurrection, the first thing he said was, do not fear.
That means that God wants to relieve us of our fear those who look upon God, who see his fearsomely shining, world-shaking true face and overcome their fear, they are relieved of all fear, including the fear of other people. They need not watch the scales of fear and sympathy, for they know that God places trust and love above fear. Those who trust in God cannot fear any more.
